Pro-Marijuana TV Ad Launched
First-Ever Nationwide Pro-Marijuana TV Ad Campaign Is Launched in Conjunction with '4/20'
by Allen St. Pierre, NORML Executive Director
Boulder, Colorado: I have every reason to believe that '4/20' in 2009 will be the biggest and most momentous one to date as NORML launches 7,770 nationwide TV ads that advocate for cannabis law reform; NORML expects record numbers of supporters to join the organization for the celebratory one-day price of $4.20 because, I believe, there is a palpable zeitgeist in America right now favoring reform; the Obama administration appears amenable to some cannabis law reforms in ways that no prior president since Jimmy Carter has embraced; and lastly, with NORML's nearly 600,000 'friends' on Facebook and nearly 67,000 MySpace, more Americans than ever before who are keen on cannabis can create a viral effect that benefits reform.
Here in Boulder between 10,000-15,000 students and activists are expected to celebrate in what has become the biggest 4/20 event in the world.
Heck, the New York Times has already posted a profile of 4/20 for today's paper, where they came yesterday for interview and photos to the University of Colorado at Boulder's National Marijuana Forum. This portends well to what will be an insane day in the media for pro-reform groups like NORML (I've already got 35 interviews scheduled...) as I was also asked to pen an essay for National Public Radio's All Things Considered that I assume will be published today.
I dare say we as a country are finally 'getting it' regarding the clear and obvious need to reform our misguided cannabis laws.

Its been almost a week since I've been back home in Colorado from my Coachella vacation and I think that is just long enough for my brain to re-gather himself after the great mushrooms that a friend found in Northern California brought back and we all ingested and they were spectacular on all levels. I was a bit scared at first since the last time I took them it was ten years ago and i had a bad episode and they killed my belly but this time around it was nothing of the sort. here are a few pictures from my journey.

On a new note... I have been giving it a lot of thought and I think that I am going to stop my bitching because it doesn't do any good and I am going to start getting orgainized. I have found the answer NORML is a non-profit company with the goals of educating the public about marajuana and its policies and they are looking to start a chapter in Denver and what someone to help run it. My good friend Kandice who lives in California runs the OCNORML Chapter in her city and with her help and guidance I think that we here in Denver could have a strong chapter. Denver needs it. Hell I need it.

Coachella 09
Yeah Yeah Yeah! With only three days left I have spent the past few days trying to decide which of the over 60 bands I want to see. I have broken them down into three easy categories starting with A. I fucking cant wait any longer, B. I want to see and C. I really don't care about seeing those groups at all, as far as I am concerned they are just wasting the money and space that other well deserving bands could be using. With my specialized grouping categories I think that I have planned out at least my time.

Gotcha !
Thanks for coming by!
Today is the day that we give thanks. Thanks to Jesus for giving his life for all of us sinners. 15 years ago i would have been at the 12 stations at Mother Mary Cabrini shrine up in the mountains. It is a beautiful shrine atop 1200 steps overlooking the church below. A hundred steps for ever station of Jesus death march. My father would take us there and climb the steps reading all the passages along the way. My sisters and I considered it our own death march if you will. We hated it. but now i would give anything to have it back. Fast forward 15 years later and I'm at work wishing i wasn't, My father has since passed on and my sisters are busy as ever. I miss the good ol days i tell ya. OK enough bout that...
We made though another week. They are just flying by are they not. It looks like that i am again the last minute friend. A friend has tickets to the Presets and no one will go with. And of course I said I would. Not really much going on and i kinda like the Presets so its a win win.
Coachella is just 7 days away baby. A week from tonight I will lost in Palm Springs Desert. I think I am prepared. I got a new hat. almost everything is packed and ready to go and i don't even leave for four days. Wednesday after noon at 5 the plane takes off. A whole week I'll be gone but don't worry i plan on documenting everything is see hear and smell.
It is opening day at Coors Field for our Colorado Rockies and it is a beautiful day for it. Its in the upper 50's on a partly cloudy day but like i said i am stuck at work while my roommate some how managed to get tickets. They look good this year minus slugger Matt Holiday who was a part of a blockbuster trade in the off season and then there is the starting pitcher, Jeff Francis who will miss the year due to injury. Here is the letter I sent last week via the USPS
Dear Baseball Gods,
I don't want to go to the World Series I would just like the Rockies to break even. If somehow you could let them win at least eighty maybe eighty five games that would be great.
Thank you
Patient in Denver
Please enjoy a little music before you go.

I get by with a little help from my friends
Every since the early 20' s Bro-romances have been around. What would you say are some of "The best Buddy films" ever? As a writer i would like to think that the reason the films are so good, is that they are all well written characters and stories to match. Somebody somewhere has taken the time and "Fleshed" out there buddies.
I have created this list because I looked around online for other similar list I found Three. That's right I found three (by the way i underestimate sometimes.) And the ones i did find were lacking. Lets get the show on the road and in no speacial order the 25 best buddy movies are...
*Laurel and Hardy the originators
* All of Abbot and Costello movie’s
Honorable Mention
I know that I missed a few but this is a good place to start.

Weekend update 04/05/09
Well the "HUGE"spring storm has come and gone and instead of 10-16 inches of snow we got maybe 2. Way to go meteorologist! the only job where you can be wrong time after time and still have a job the next day. And like this time when your wrong people will thank you. Oh what a job.
Im writing again. I've had the story in my head for some time now and i think pure laziness as kept me from putting it on paper.
I've been re-reading a lot of stuff online regarding story structure. Its all about the beginning, the middle and the end along with the two plot twist on at the end of act I and the other at the end of act II as shown in this chart off of Michael Hauge's Screenplay Structure. Five key points in a script

It is visually the best thing that i have found that explains the six stages of one's story.
I have found a new addiction in Twitter. i don't know why, but i cant stop. And since the news/goverment had us scared with the "HUGE" spring storm that was going to cripple the city I had planned on staying inside all weekend long. I had planed on picking up my daughter on Sunday but she told me that she would rather spend time with her mother who because of work she doesnt get to see her but for a few minutes in the morning. which was fine with me being that we were to be snowed in anyway. Next weekend we have a Easter egg hunt to go to on Saturday morning and in the afternoon were going to see Monsters and Aliens. WHOOOO. I report back on that when the time comes. Till then have some mucsic.

Good Bye Cutler
The saga is finally over and Denver has lost. The Denver Broncos today traded Jay Cutler, who was and still is the second coming of the man himself John Elway after a month long saga. Cutler is the real deal, a truly dominant player but he also is the city's biggest cry baby who ever played professionally in this great state. Depending on the side that you listen to you will learn a few different things.
From the Broncos we could learn that the NFL is a business and teams will do what ever it takes to make it themselves the best franchise overall. And that means firing the Coach/ General Manager and threaten to trade the star player in order to "shake"things up a bit.
From Cutler we learn that even though the player make millions of millions of dollars they are still human and young and if you cut them and if you have ever talked to him or someone like him you probably will want to they will bleed and then whine like the little bitch that he is!!!
